Working together to make known the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed.

Tea and coffee available – all welcome!

Whilst we are raising funds for Bardsley, there is also opportunity to donate in kind too! The charity are currently appealing for donations of kitchenware to help furnish the homes of young people transitioning out of temporary accommodation.
Items don’t need to be new but in good, clean, working condition.
Donations can be delivered directly to Bardsley House (Hill Top, CV1 5EP) but please phone ahead (07943 688760) to make sure that someone is there to greet you.
OR – bring to church and we will arrange delivery to Bardsley House.

If you are interested in and able to help in planning our Eden Project Big Lunch this year, please let Karen Adams know as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to show ourselves as a community church – witnessing to the love of God in this time and this place. Please think about what you think we should do, how we can do it, and what you can do to help make it happen!

Please note that Coexist get-togethers resume this month at The Holyhead Pub – all welcome!

Our charity focus for this year will be Bardsley Youth Project, a very local organisation which supports young people aged 16-25 suffering, or at risk of suffering, homelessness. Find out more via the COMMUNITY page.

From Christmas parties to carols by candlelight, from supermarket carol singing and café-style Christmas Eve to the celebrations of Christmas Day, SCC’s fellowship was in full swing through December! We’d like to thank everybody who took part in any way, as, alongside the jollity, we remembered the REAL reason for the season!

On December 19th, Bethany, one of our Friday Brownies, received her Brownie Gold award.
This is the highest award that a Brownie can earn!
Many congratulations Bethany, from all at SCC!
On Monday December 15th, Girls’ Brigade made Christingles and added chocolates to decorated boxes. These were then delivered to Lammas House Care Home (across the path from church) for residents to enjoy.
They also watched the story of The Grumpy Owl who found joy in his barn at Christmas (find the link to this on our Things to do in Advent page) and at the end of the night each girl had a bag of goodies to take home: Christmas crafts, sweets, reindeer food and cards. Great fun!

Karen, Sue and Jill put together 32 bags of toiletries as Christmas gifts for those who will spend Christmas as residents at the Salvation Army Life House in Harnall Lane.
Many thanks to everybody who gave so generously! If you still have items to donate, please bring them to SCC – we will ensure that they go to those who need them most!
