Dear Friends,
In this Season of Creation, the hymn ‘God in his love for us lent us this planet’ speaks of creation care and the responsibility we have to act as stewards of the earth. We are to recognise it as God’s gift rather than our possession.
The hymn explores themes of the planet’s abundance, the destructive outcomes of human actions like war and waste, and the fundamental need for sharing and environmental protection. So, as we celebrate and approach another harvest, let us give thanks to God and see how we can share what we have. (Psalm 96:11-12)
WORLD DAY OF CREATION PRAYER
Eternal God, you crown the year with goodness, and give us the fruits of the earth in their season. Grant that we may use them to your glory, for the relief of those in need, and for our wellbeing, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
So let us unite in prayer, thanksgiving and essential care for our common home.
